Telehealth Support Services
Telehealth services allow clients to connect with their clinician in a secure, easy, innovative and convenient way! Telehealth, or tele-rehabilitation, is the delivery of rehabilitation services through online video and phone technology. It allows our clinicians to provide virtual assessments, coaching and supervision, and prescribe at-home treatment plans to keep your recovery moving forward. During this time of social distancing measures, as well as for those who are unable to attend our clinic due to mobility challenges, lack of transportation or distance, telehealth is a tremendous tool to ensure everyone.
Most of our services can be delivered in-person, through Telehealth, or a combination of both.
Benefits include:
Get the treatment you need from home (or desired location) for Dietitian & Nutrition Services, Counselling Support, or Naturopathic Medicine Services. The “travel factor” is eliminated with Telehealth
No need to worry about childcare
Fit with you busy schedule: book your appointment between meetings or commitments
Your location, or mobility barriers are no longer a challenge to attend an appointment
It is a safer option if you have some health concerns that put you at risk when around others
Great opportunity to review your home exercise routine and provide advice on how to advance your exercise program to enhance your recovery
Give your clinician insight into your home and/or office surroundings that we wouldn’t normally have in the clinic. This is a great opportunity to discuss your posture and ergonomics
How telehealth appointments work:
1. Book an appointment for Dietitian & Nutrition Services, Counselling Support, or Naturopathic Medicine Services (online or give us a call)
2. Complete the intake and consent form emailed to you
3. We will send you a link to easily and securely join the video session
4. Attend your session
What you need:
• A device with a camera and secure internet connection: This can be a desktop, laptop, phone, or tablet. Having a device that is portable is helpful but not required.
• Private Place to Meet: This can be any room in your home so long as you feel comfortable having a private conversation in this space. We will be reviewing your medical history and other personal information relating to your injury, so make sure it is a space appropriate to do so.
• Space to Move: You will likely be asked to complete several movements in front of the camera to demonstrate range of motion and body mechanics.
• Comfortable Clothing: that will allow you move. Wearing clothing that allows your physiotherapist to see the body part to be assessed is also very helpful.
