Yan feels that becoming a Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner and Acupuncturist was her destiny. She was born into a family of doctors – both Western medicine doctors and Chinese medicine practitioners. Her great-grandfather, Yuren Jiang, was a renowned pediatrician in China, credited with writing the first pediatric textbook for a TCM University. Yan’s mother is a PhD in Chinese medicine with over 25 years of expertise in ECG monitoring at a leading hospital. Yan's lifelong fascination with TCM led her to enroll and graduate from the oldest and one of the most esteemed TCM universities in Nanjing, China. After gaining valuable outpatient experience in China, Yan brought her passion for TCM there to Canada.

Yan believes in the innate harmony between the human body and nature, a fundamental principle of Traditional Chinese Medicine. She has used Acupuncture, Cupping, Tuina and Massage - natural remedies with no side effects on the body – to help numerous individuals with fertility issues, pain management, depression/anxiety, insomnia, digestion problems, eczema, and pediatric health concerns.

Outside of her practice, Yan is accompanied by Lucky, her little ginger cat, who she considers her best friend and little brother. Yan loves nature and the spirit of water and often spends her free time biking, dancing, and practicing Yoga in the sunshine.
